Job description
Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Civil/BIM Engineer to spearhead the modeling, coordination, and delivery of civil and infrastructure Building Information Modeling (BIM) activities across major projects located on-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role demands extensive hands-on experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), and solid expertise in infrastructure including roads, highways, bridges, wet utilities, and site works.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain detailed, constructible Civil 3D and Revit models consistent with LOD 300 to 500 standards.
- Create models encompassing roads, highways, bridges, water, sewer, stormwater, treated sewage effluent (TSE), grading, and other site-related works.
- Integrate survey data, COGO, alignments, corridors, profiles, surfaces, and civil engineering interfaces into the BIM models.
- Convert engineering design intent into coordinated 3D models, accommodating design alterations and managing Request for Information (RFI) responses.
- Lead coordination meetings for federated models using Navisworks Manage and ACC Model Coordination, identifying and resolving clashes across multiple disciplines such as Civil, Structural, MEP, and Landscape.
- Maintain detailed clash detection reports, coordination logs, and issue tracking records, following through to resolution with cross-disciplinary teams and site personnel.
- Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plan (BEP), ISO 19650 standards, and GCC/local guidelines, including adherence to naming conventions, work-sharing protocols, modeling standards, and LOD/Level of Information (LOI) requirements.
- Perform quality assurance and control of BIM models, checking coordinates, parameters, model integrity, export quality, and data accuracy.
- Produce model-based deliverables such as shop drawings, traffic diversion plans, quantity take-offs, earthwork volume calculations, and 4D sequencing information to support project delivery.
- Assist in development of as-built or record models by incorporating survey verification and redline markups.
- Provide BIM-based support for construction sequencing, RFIs, field verifications, and technical coordination on site.
- Offer technical leadership and mentoring for junior BIM modelers, technicians, and draftsmen, reviewing outputs to ensure technical precision and compliance with constructability and standards.
- Represent the Civil BIM discipline in technical coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients, collaborating closely with Architectural, Structural, MEP, and Landscape BIM leads.
- Manage civil infrastructure asset data for Facilities Management handover using COBie standards; handle civil model versioning, file management, and publishing within the Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Contribute to developing BIM standards, reusable template libraries, workflows, and content that enhance project efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 12 years experience specializing in BIM modeling and engineering for civil and infrastructure projects, preferably with significant involvement in large-scale projects across the GCC.
- Expert proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit.
- Advanced skills in Navisworks Manage and ACC Model Coordination.
- Competent use of AutoCAD and Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 platforms.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure components including roads, highways, bridges, utilities, grading, and site-related work.
- Experience integrating survey and COGO data, and adeptness in managing alignments, profiles, corridors, surfaces, and federated BIM coordination including clash detection.
- Knowledge and application of BIM QA/QC procedures and model auditing.
- Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards and BIM Execution Plans, along with compliance to CDE workflows and document information management.
- Experience supporting FM handover processes, especially with COBie data population and validation.
- Certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional in Civil 3D, Revit, or Navisworks are preferred; ISO 19650 certification is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
- Additional familiarity with Dynamo scripting and Power BI tools is an advantage.
