Role Overview
Technologists at WorldQuant are responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying firm-wide platforms and tools in collaboration with researchers and portfolio managers. The work environment is intellectually stimulating yet relaxed, attracting those passionate about coding and collaborative innovation.
This particular role involves building software to support large-scale quantitative research operations and portfolio production. The team is embarking on a multi-year initiative to create a scalable, high-performance platform to support the firm’s growth over the next decade. The successful candidate will tackle unique technical challenges and contribute their valuable experience to the team.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience writing production-quality C++ code on Linux platforms and a deep understanding of Linux system programming principles. They should have the ability to architect and develop large-scale distributed systems, strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, high-performance application design, and concurrency mechanisms. The role requires a self-driven individual capable of working autonomously with minimal oversight, and proficiency in English communication.
Additional strengths that are advantageous include experience in Python development, handling large graph data processing systems, and building streaming or dataflow systems. Prior financial services experience is not necessary.
