About WorldQuant BRAIN
BRAIN is a subdivision within WorldQuant designed with a fintech approach that simplifies quantitative finance concepts and makes them accessible to participants. It offers an advanced crowdsourcing platform where external contributors can submit signals, data, and other research input to the firm.
Role Overview
The position invites researchers to join the BRAIN team to support the crowdsourcing initiative enabling skilled individuals globally to become quantitative researchers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement alphas and other algorithmic tools within the BRAIN platform.
- Research academic literature on quantitative finance to inform strategy and improvements.
- Identify and create new research avenues and generate innovative ideas to expand the domain.
- Evaluate existing functionalities on the BRAIN platform; identify issues and propose actionable solutions.
- Design, test, and contribute new features and datasets to enhance the platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with country heads and business development partners to execute strategies that attract users and consultants to BRAIN.
- Lead training sessions and update the educational curriculum for users and consultants engaged with BRAIN.
Candidate Profile
- Prior familiarity with the BRAIN platform or experience as a BRAIN or VRC Research Consultant is advantageous.
- Holder of or pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in analytical and quantitative disciplines such as engineering, science, mathematics, or finance from a reputed institution.
- Proficient in programming languages and environments including Java, C++, C, Python, MySQL, SQL Server; UNIX knowledge is preferred.
- Possess a researcher’s mindset: initiative-driven, inventive, persistent, and motivated by challenging unsolved problems.
- Strong enthusiasm for understanding global financial markets.
- Effective communication and presentation skills in English.
