Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our team to drive impactful change within our organisation by working on complex, customer-centric projects. This role also includes mentoring peers and influencing critical business outcomes. This opportunity is open for candidates located in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch.
Primary Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders, delivery teams, and subject matter experts to gather, assess, and specify business requirements.
- Map current and future business processes to identify enhancements and efficiencies.
- Create comprehensive user stories and business documents to facilitate delivery across various teams and projects.
- Evaluate possible solutions and make informed recommendations balancing customer needs, business goals, risks, and financial impacts.
- Serve as a reliable bridge between business units and delivery groups to ensure shared clarity on requirements, risks, and expectations.
- Communicate intricate ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Identify risks and issues proactively and support their resolution.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and cross-team scrums.
- Guide and mentor Associate Business Analysts, Business Analysts, and participants in the Graduate program.
- Lead planning for analyses and contribute to the refinement and evolution of analysis methodologies and team practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Over five years in a senior business analysis or delivery-focused role, preferably within financial services or insurance sectors.
- Experience on commercial, pricing, product, or technically complex projects.
- Proficient with Agile, Lean, and Waterfall project management methods.
- Advanced knowledge of business analysis frameworks such as BABOK, Agile, and Lean Six Sigma.
- A strong track record in dissecting complex challenges and providing clear, actionable solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Skilled at running workshops and coordinating with remote or distributed teams.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to produce precise and high-quality documentation.
- Experienced user of tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Adaptable, resilient, and team-focused, with a commitment to supporting colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment.
