Role Overview

The Senior Business Analyst will serve as a critical link between business stakeholders, enterprise clients, and technology teams. This role emphasizes direct engagement and hands-on analysis to capture and document business needs into specifications that guide system development through design, testing, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business users, product owners, and client stakeholders to elicit, scrutinize, and document business requirements to form the foundation for system and software solutions.
• Examine current business processes, procedures, and workflows across finance, procurement, HR, and operational delivery areas.
• Detect inefficiencies in current practices and systems; recommend enhancements in business procedures and required system functionalities.
• Assess and review existing systems and their integrations, specifying necessary changes to accommodate evolving business demands.
• Create detailed functional specifications including user stories, acceptance criteria, and API documentation for developers.
• Utilize process and data modeling methods to generate clear, unambiguous specifications for system design and development.
• Apply project management techniques to develop plans, estimate costs and resources, and track delivery of multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Oversee deployment of functional solutions, including authoring and executing comprehensive system test plans to assure quality before releases.
• Develop training materials and user documentation; facilitate structured training sessions for internal teams and clients.
• Serve as a key knowledge hub supporting decision-making among product, engineering, and client teams during system projects.
• Advise users and developers on enhancements to platform features, web applications, and system integrations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of five years’ experience as a business or systems analyst involved in enterprise software or technical project delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, science, business, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong written communication skills demonstrated by producing business requirements, functional specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Proficiency in process and data modeling, including flowcharts and process diagrams.
• Experience defining API-based integrations with systems such as ERP, CRM, ITSM, or financial platforms.
• Skilled in writing and performing system test plans and managing user acceptance testing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence for delivery management.
• Effective communicator capable of engaging senior internal and client stakeholders, including handling conflicting requirements.
• Must hold full lawful work rights for Australia.

Preferred but Not Required

• Experience with AI or automation technologies, agent systems, or LLM-powered workflows.
• Background in configuring tools and data integrations for automation platforms, including with MCP systems.
• Familiarity with financial services or regulated industry environments such as banking.
• Understanding of control frameworks like SOC 2.
• Relevant certifications in business analysis or Agile methodologies such as ECBA, CBAP, or Certified Scrum Product Owner.
