Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Deliver consistently warm, professional, and engaging guest service to build strong relationships and craft memorable experiences.
• Respond quickly and courteously to guest feedback and handle service recovery as needed.
• Innovate beverage offerings and promotions to enhance guest engagement, while maintaining a strong presence during service hours to support the team.
• Manage daily bar operations ensuring smooth service, including adherence to opening, operating, and closing procedures.
• Uphold service quality by monitoring presentation, cleanliness, and overall ambience.
• Design and maintain beverage menus showcasing signature cocktails and seasonal selections.
• Coordinate efficiently with kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
• Maintain bar equipment safety and proper functioning.
• Oversee beverage cost management, inventory control, and conduct regular stocktakes investigating any discrepancies.
• Track sales and identify opportunities to boost revenue through thoughtful analysis and initiative implementation.
• Ensure accurate billing, cash handling, and financial reporting related to bar operations.
• Stay expert in cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, and current beverage trends; introduce innovative concepts aligned with the Radisson RED brand.
• Train staff on product knowledge, upselling methods, and uphold high service standards.
• Liaise with suppliers to acquire quality products and support promotional events.
• Comply with all alcohol licensing laws, overseeing responsible service of alcohol practices.
• Maintain top-tier hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards within bar areas.
• Ensure adherence to hotel policies, brand requirements, and operational procedures at all times.
• Manage food safety and health & safety regulations relevant to bar operations.
• Enforce professional grooming and presentation standards among all team members.
• Collaborate closely with Food & Beverage leadership to meet departmental goals.
• Work alongside Events, Kitchen, Front Office, and Sales teams to successfully execute functions and promotions.
• Participate actively in management meetings, briefings, and training programs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Food & Beverage department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Preferred diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of bar operation experience in high-end hotels, restaurants, or similar hospitality settings.
• At least 2 years of experience in managing bar operations.
• Proven expertise in beverage menu creation, inventory management, and understanding of beverage revenue reporting and financial metrics.

• Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems and inventory management software.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality.

Other Requirements

• Possession of current Responsible Service of Alcohol certification or its New Zealand equivalent.
• LCQ and DM certifications recognized in New Zealand.
• First Aid certification is advantageous.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
• Multilingual skills are beneficial.
