Senior Barista

About the Role

Join KOKO Kawane as a Senior Barista, where you will be instrumental in defining the beverage experience by ensuring operational excellence and efficiency. This position involves mentoring junior baristas and supporting the Lead Barista in managing daily beverage operations to uphold the brand's high standards of matcha product quality, team performance, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and specialty drinks consistent with company recipes and quality benchmarks.
• Oversee daily operational tasks including inventory control, supply ordering, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in workforce management by planning barista schedules to align with sales trends, optimizing productivity while controlling labor costs.
• Maintain hygiene by keeping workstations and equipment clean in adherence to SFA standards.
• Operate equipment safely to ensure consistent product output.
• Manage inventory and generate purchase orders through the Netsuite system to guarantee uninterrupted supply of ingredients and materials.
• Represent and understand the KOKO Kawane brand deeply to engage customers effectively.
• Deliver excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues professionally and courteously.
• Promote complementary offerings such as pastries and merchandise to enhance sales.
• Efficiently multitask managing orders, cleanliness, and matcha preparation to minimize waiting times.
• Assist in other operational roles such as cashiering and cleaning when necessary.
• Stay informed about menu selections, seasonal items, and promotional events to support customer decisions.
• Conduct training and mentorship for junior staff in onboarding, technical skills, customer service, and operational best practices.
• Provide continuous feedback and refresher training to foster team growth and consistent quality.
• Execute any additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years working as a barista; experience with matcha preferred.
• Valid Food Safety Level 1 certification.
• Basic skills in matcha latte art.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Passion for matcha and a friendly, outgoing personality.
