Senior Barista

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Barista to become a vital part of our Food & Beverage team to deliver creativity, quality, and exceptional hospitality in each cup.

Key Responsibilities

• Consistently prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso, and specialty drinks with precision.
• Ensure all beverages meet Paramount Hotel’s standards for taste, presentation, and quality.
• Contribute innovative ideas for new beverages and signature drink recipes.
• Interact with guests, understand their preferences, and offer confident beverage recommendations.
• Address guest questions and resolve concerns with professionalism and genuine care.
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior baristas on coffee preparation, service excellence, and product knowledge.
• Lead by example in upholding quality and hygiene protocols within the team.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of espresso machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report maintenance needs when necessary.
• Assist in monitoring stock levels for coffee, milk, syrups, and related supplies.
• Support waste reduction initiatives by controlling product usage and minimizing loss.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including accurate record-keeping.
• Collaborate closely with the wider F&B team to ensure smooth, seamless operation.

Qualifications & Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar barista role within a 5-star international hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of coffee types, espresso brewing techniques, and standard beverage recipes.
• Relevant tertiary education or equivalent qualifications.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Experience working in a multicultural setting is beneficial.
• Familiarity with MICROS or comparable point of sale systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• HACCP understanding and up-selling skills are advantageous.
• Well-organized, efficient, thrives under pressure while maintaining a positive demeanor.
• Genuine passion for coffee, hospitality, and creating memorable guest moments.
• Natural leadership abilities and a collaborative team player mindset.
