Senior Backend Engineer - Trading Desk

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our Trading Desk Team at Coinhako, based in Singapore. This role focuses on creating and supporting high-performance internal tools vital for our Trading operations, including seamless integration across various systems to improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain backend services and internal tooling that power the Trading Desk activities.
• Implement integrations with multiple external platforms such as exchanges, liquidity providers, and trading venues through REST APIs, WebSocket, and FIX protocols.
• Enhance the performance aspects of the trading infrastructure including reliability, scalability, latency reduction, and observability improvements.
• Streamline and automate manual trading tasks to minimize operational risk and enhance system design.
• Engage fully in the software development lifecycle, including coding, peer code reviews, testing, and debugging.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• At least 5 to 6 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer specializing in trading systems development.
• Proficiency in Python or Go programming languages, with advantageous knowledge of C++.
• Demonstrated experience working with REST APIs, WebSocket, and the FIX protocol for connectivity.
• Understanding of trading concepts such as trade lifecycle, financial assets, trading venues, risk management, and execution flows.
• Hands-on experience with trading infrastructure components including order management systems, execution platforms, market data handling, risk monitoring, reconciliation, and post-trade workflows.
• Prior exposure to developing systems requiring low-latency, high throughput, or high-frequency processing is preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and infrastructure as code tools such as AWS, Docker, and Terraform.
• Experience in working with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Comfort thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and showcasing a collaborative mindset with proactive problem-solving.
• Background in Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, Fintech, or other financial services sectors will be highly regarded.
