Role Overview
This position involves developing and enhancing Teleport's core product, focusing on performance, scalability, security, and external system integration. You will engage in the entire product lifecycle, from interacting directly with customers to understand issues, creating design proposals through RFDs, coding, testing, and documenting your solutions. Most development is performed in Go, with open source contributions forming a substantial part of the work.
Key Responsibilities
- Attain deep expertise in ensuring scalable, performant, and reliable Teleport deployments at scale.
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality and exceptional product features.
- Primarily write code in Go programming language.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on scalability and performance topics.
- Partner with customers to troubleshoot and resolve performance problems.
- Pursue continuous growth of technical skills and knowledge.
Candidate Requirements
- Willingness to participate in collaborative coding assessments in Go during the interview process.
- A builder mindset with demonstrated experience in creating products from the ground up.
- Extensive proficiency in Go development.
- Strong background in designing and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performance distributed systems.
- Practical Linux systems engineering expertise.
- Understanding of Identity Management concepts including RBAC, ABAC, and zero-trust security models.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and openness to mastering emerging technologies.
- Exhibit transparency, humility, and a team-first attitude.
- Contributions to Open Source projects are highly valued.
Recruitment Process
- Initial video call with a recruiter to discuss company overview, products, compensation practices, and interview steps.
- Video discussion with the Hiring Manager providing detailed briefing on the coding challenge and answering queries.
- Participate in a take-home coding challenge demonstrating real work scenarios, completed over roughly two weeks with ongoing team support; concluded with a review meeting.
- Successful challenge completion leads to a job offer.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is between £144,000 and £204,600 per annum.
