Senior Azure Cloud Architect

Role Overview

We are searching for a seasoned Senior Azure Cloud Architect to spearhead the design and implementation of large-scale cloud platforms and advanced AI-driven solutions. The successful candidate will lead cloud transformation efforts by architecting cutting-edge Azure solutions and providing technical guidance in extensive modernization initiatives. Collaboration with senior management, presales, and engineering teams will be essential to create scalable, secure, and adaptive architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design enterprise-level Azure cloud platforms and landing zones encompassing subscriptions, management groups, networking, security, identity, governance, monitoring, and automation.
• Develop highly available, secure, and scalable architectures leveraging Azure services such as AKS, App Service, Azure Functions, API Management, Event Grid, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, and other PaaS offerings.
• Strategize cloud-native and application modernization approaches including re-platforming, re-architecting, containerization, microservices, and event-driven architectural patterns.
• Guide migrations and modernization for large enterprise workloads onto Azure.
• Architect and integrate Azure OpenAI and Generative AI solutions including enterprise AI assistants, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions, intelligent search tools, copilots, and AI-enabled business applications.
• Establish integration methodologies for Azure OpenAI with enterprise applications, APIs, data platforms, and knowledge bases.
• Ensure adherence to AI-related security, identity management, data privacy, responsible AI principles, observability, and governance.
• Lead architecture workshops and technical dialogues with various teams including customers, application, infrastructure, security, and senior leadership.
• Create reference architectures, blueprints, design standards, and reusable cloud design patterns.
• Participate in RFP/RFI responses, proposals, estimations, presentations, and client-facing engagements.
• Assist presales in defining solution scope, delivery models, effort evaluations, assumptions, and technical risk assessments.
• Conduct architecture reviews, uphold technical governance across cloud transformation projects, and mentor architects and engineering teams in multiple workstreams.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Between 16 and 22 years of IT experience, including extensive exposure to cloud and enterprise architecture roles.
• Strong practical architectural expertise specifically in Microsoft Azure environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure platform and systems architecture, including Landing Zones, Management Groups, and Subscriptions.
• Expertise in Hub-Spoke and Virtual WAN networking architectures, private connectivity, and related networking technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, Azure Policy, plus role-based access control (RBAC), governance models, security, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Skilled in Azure PaaS and cloud-native technologies such as AKS/Kubernetes, containerization, and App Service.
• Experience with Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, and Event Grid components.
• Competence in using Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, and managed Azure services.
• Understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, distributed systems, integration patterns, and event-driven system designs.
• Capability in architecting application modernization and large-scale cloud migration strategies within enterprise organizations.
• Expertise in Azure OpenAI Service and Generative AI design, integrating large language model (LLM) functionalities into business applications.
• Familiarity with retrieval augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector search, prompt orchestration, AI agents, and enterprise generative AI frameworks.
• Consulting experience with customer engagement, especially with senior technical and business stakeholders; proficiency in RFPs, RFIs, presales solutioning, estimations, and technical proposal development.
• Strong ability to translate business needs into scalable, effective cloud architectures.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, and Azure Machine Learning services.
• Knowledge of FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization techniques.
• Hands-on involvement with large-scale cloud migration or modernization programs.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Architect or equivalent cloud certifications.
• Experience collaborating with global enterprise clients and distributed engineering teams.
