Job description

Scope of Work

The Senior AV Technician oversees a diverse array of Audio, Visual, and Lighting (AVL) systems including sound reinforcement and outdoor lighting used for special events. This role involves daily upkeep and operational monitoring of audio, visual, lighting, and show effects equipment, including snow, smoke, and water effects. The incumbent applies hands-on knowledge for troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and servicing of all AVL technology.

Scheduled duties include all set-ups, pre-productions, technical and dress rehearsals, and stage show performances, ensuring smooth execution in all entertainment activities such as shows, parades, street performances, opening and closing ceremonies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage all electrical and electronic operations related to stage shows, street events, pyrotechnics, and special effects specific to AV and lighting.
  • Regularly inspect and report on equipment and consumables with mandatory weekly and monthly checks.
  • Coordinate monthly servicing with external providers to maintain equipment quality and performance.
  • Generate accurate work documentation, cue sheets, and schedules for productions.
  • Perform daily inventory audits and manage consumable procurement from order initiation to on-site delivery with continuous supplier follow-up.
  • Oversee maintenance and operational performance of projectors, fostering strong relationships with suppliers and internal maintenance teams.
  • Offer technical assistance at venues to uphold the highest show standards.
  • Complete tasks as assigned by Entertainment management.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure reliable show operation.
  • Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing AV and electronic gear within the park’s entertainment infrastructure.
  • Maintain intercommunication systems across halls, stages, and event sites.
  • Create and build custom testing devices to aid maintenance when necessary.
  • Manage issued equipment and maintain detailed inventory and maintenance logs.
  • Assess materials and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and introduce superior technologies.
  • Adhere to and promote strict safety protocols and professional ethics at all times.
  • Demonstrate inclusive and non-discriminatory practices in all professional encounters.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisors.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must bring at least two years of experience working with film crews, production/post-production teams, live show performances, events in malls, streets, halls, or theme parks.

Job-Specific Skills

  • Fluent English both in writing and speaking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Photoshop plus Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Competent in audio editing and track preparation.
  • Experienced with QLab and Watchout show control and playback platforms.
  • Skilled in GrandMA and Avolites lighting control consoles.
  • Understanding of show control technologies, DMX protocols, and lighting standards.
  • Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot PA systems.
  • Knowledgeable about AV, lighting tools, and entertainment technologies.
  • Effective in diagnosing and repairing AV and lighting equipment on-site.
  • Strong grasp of live show operations, including rehearsals and event productions.
