Role Overview

Join Grant Thornton New Zealand Ltd as a Senior Auditor based in Auckland CBD with flexible working options. This role involves close collaboration with Partners and Managers and offers growth opportunities within a mid-sized firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee audit projects from initial planning stages through to final completion, ensuring alignment with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Gain deep insight into client business operations, processes, and their financial reporting frameworks.
  • Assess the efficacy of internal controls and propose areas for enhancement.
  • Prepare and scrutinize financial statements to guarantee precision and accordance with accounting principles.
  • Guide and support junior auditors under your supervision.
  • Work alongside clients to tackle their business challenges and support their goals.
  • Keep abreast of current developments in industry regulations and auditing standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess over three years' experience in external auditing.
  • Firm understanding and application of IFRS standards.
  • Comprehensive grasp of auditing principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Experienced in audit software and adept with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proven leadership in managing junior audit teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA or CPA are preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experienced in handling multiple audit assignments simultaneously.
  • A positive attitude including the ability to foster a fun work environment.
