Role Overview

This position offers an opportunity different from traditional BAS roles or audit paths. Join our IFRS Centre of Excellence to develop specialized financial reporting expertise while engaging with a varied client and industry portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements compliant with NZ IFRS and special purpose reports across multiple sectors.
  • Engage in short-term client assignments requiring IFRS technical expertise.
  • Support lease accounting projects under IFRS 16 standards.
  • Compile cash flow statements in line with IAS 7 requirements.
  • Assist in group consolidations pursuant to IFRS 10.
  • Help with business combination accounting and disclosure tasks under IFRS 3.
  • Provide support for first-time IFRS adoption under IFRS 1.
  • Offer technical accounting advice and financial reporting assistance.
  • Contribute to tax compliance and related engagements when necessary.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a driven accounting professional passionate about technical problem solving and financial reporting standards. The ideal candidate has:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in chartered accountancy, professional services, audit, or financial reporting roles.
  • Progress towards a CA ANZ, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Keen interest in detailed technical accounting and reporting frameworks.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
  • High focus on precision with a commitment to quality output.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • A proactive approach coupled with eagerness for continuous learning.

Experience in preparing Tier 2 financial statements, audit participation, or involvement in IFRS-related projects is beneficial but not mandatory.
