About the Role
Join HSBC Life, a premier global institution, and specialize in Insurance while benefiting from the strengths of a top international bank. We are seeking a highly skilled professional for the role of Senior Associate, Pricing, to execute comprehensive actuarial pricing and product implementation activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of pricing new insurance products, including premium and benefit calculations, setting actuarial assumptions, conducting profitability analyses, and facilitating system implementation and user acceptance testing to ensure smooth, timely product launches.
- Support system migration tasks by assisting in product setup such as formula definitions and rate tables, reviewing business requirements, and conducting user acceptance tests in partnership with IT, Product, Policy Servicing, and New Business teams.
- Collaborate with Products, Distribution, and Policy Servicing teams to address client requests related to in-force policy updates, post-sale illustrations, channel incentive analysis, and marketing campaign configurations.
- Engage occasionally in risk management and control efforts including insurance risk reviews, operational risk management, and reinforcing financial and operational controls.
- Participate in broader departmental activities like periodic experience studies, financial stress testing, board report preparation, regulatory projects, infrastructure upgrades, and sales and marketing support tasks.
- Support the Head of Pricing in maintaining the insurer’s financial wellbeing, safeguarding policyholder interests, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements under the Insurance Act.
Candidate Profile
- University degree in relevant fields such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Economics.
- Prior actuarial experience in life insurance product pricing is desirable.
- Proficiency with actuarial software such as Prophet and skills in VBA and Excel programming are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise across business functions.
- Collaborative and open-minded team player with a strong emphasis on cooperation.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities in financial data interpretation.
