Role Summary

The Senior Architectural Technician role is a full-time, onsite position based in Williamstown, County Galway. The individual will play a vital role in the design and documentation of building projects through all phases, from initial concept through to construction. Key duties include crafting detailed planning and construction drawings, managing and updating CAD models, and ensuring all outputs align with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed planning and construction drawings with precision and clarity.
• Maintain and coordinate updates to CAD models throughout project lifecycles.
• Ensure that all design deliverables meet Irish building regulations and project-specific standards.
• Collaborate frequently with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders in multidisciplinary teams.
• Review technical drawings to verify accuracy and assess feasibility for construction.
• Support regulatory and planning submission documentation processes.
• Contribute to project coordination efforts and attend site visits as needed.
• Assist in maintaining consistent documentation protocols and workflow procedures within the practice.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong background in Architectural Technology and Architecture with a focus on translating design concepts into technically sound solutions.
• Proven expertise in technical drawing and construction detailing for comprehensive project documentation.
• Proficiency with computer-aided design software, preferably AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Relevant third-level education in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
• Multiple years of experience working in architectural or engineering practices, ideally with familiarity of Irish planning and building codes.
• Sound knowledge of building materials, construction methodologies, and integration with structural and mechanical/electrical services.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for collaborative teamwork and client interactions.
