About the Company and Role
A well-established Edmonton-based architecture firm with over four decades of experience seeks a Senior Architect to join their team. The company boasts a rich portfolio spanning mixed-use developments, commercial retail spaces, interiors, corporate buildings, industrial sites, seniors housing, governmental, institutional, and religious projects. They emphasize creating meaningful social spaces and invite professionals who share this vision to contribute to advancing the architectural landscape both in Edmonton and expanding into British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee architectural projects from initial concept stages to full completion, acting as the main liaison with clients.
- Develop and present innovative yet cost-effective design solutions that meet client objectives.
- Administer project execution by managing quality control, budgets, timelines, resource allocation, and coordination with consultants.
- Guide and mentor junior architects and team members by offering both technical expertise and architectural advice.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Participate in business development activities, including maintaining existing client relationships, preparing proposals, and identifying new business opportunities.
- Contribute to expanding the firm’s growth through leadership, collaboration, and strategic planning.
Candidate Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution; licensed or eligible for registration with the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA).
- Have at least ten years of combined project experience across various types such as institutional, commercial, and multi-family residential buildings.
- Exhibit a client-focused and service-oriented attitude, excelling in building and sustaining strong client relationships.
- Demonstrate leadership skills with a cooperative and team-centric approach.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to nurture both new and ongoing client partnerships.
- Experience in business development including client engagement, networking, and proposal support is a valued asset.
Compensation and Benefits
