Responsibilities

• Lead innovation by applying advanced NLP and large language model techniques to address challenging language translation problems in e-commerce, including image and video translations.
• Design and deploy scalable machine learning architectures that improve translation quality assessments and boost efficiency across diverse systems and teams.
• Collaborate across departments to define project goals, success criteria, and deliver impactful solutions aligned with larger business strategies.
• Perform thorough data analyses on multilingual datasets to extract deep insights that guide product development and enhance language technologies.
• Develop and implement new modeling approaches for machine translation quality evaluation and workflow optimization, pushing forward the state-of-the-art when existing methods are insufficient.
• Act as a subject matter expert on large language models applied to e-commerce translation, effectively communicating technical concepts to various stakeholders including senior leaders and influencing broad adoption of these methods.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of rigorous scientific inquiry and innovation in machine translation and evaluation techniques.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience developing machine learning models for practical business applications.
• PhD degree or Master’s with 5+ years of applied research experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
• Solid experience with neural networks, deep learning methodologies, and machine learning principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with modeling libraries and frameworks like R, scikit-learn, Spark MLlib, MxNet, TensorFlow, numpy, scipy among others.
• Knowledge of distributed computing platforms such as Hadoop and Apache Spark for handling large data volumes.
