Senior Applied Scientist - International Machine Learning

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scalable solutions for business challenges using machine learning and analytical methods.
• Extract and analyze relevant insights from extensive historical Amazon business data to automate and optimize key operations.
• Design, develop, evaluate, and implement innovative, highly scalable predictive models.
• Research and apply novel machine learning and statistical techniques.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to implement real-time models and create new features.
• Partner with business owners and operations teams to enhance business processes.
• Establish efficient, automated workflows for large-scale data analysis, model building, validation, and deployment.
• Provide mentorship to fellow scientists and engineers on machine learning methodologies.

Team Information

The International Machine Learning Team focuses on developing unique machine learning solutions targeting challenges primarily in India and other emerging markets across MENA and Latin America, impacting both top and bottom-line results for Amazon India.

Qualifications

• A minimum of seven years of experience building machine learning models applied to business use cases.
• A Master's degree or PhD.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience with neural networks, deep learning, and machine learning methodologies.

Preferred Expertise

• Familiarity with modeling frameworks and tools including R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, numpy, and scipy.
• Experience working with large-scale distributed systems like Hadoop and Spark.
