Job description
Position Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Applied AI Engineer to join a global AI Innovation and R&D team focused on developing production-ready Generative and Agentic AI systems.
Compensation includes a salary range of €100,000 to €112,000 along with bonuses and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade agentic AI systems with emphasis on reliability, scalability, and readiness for deployment.
- Create robust, stateful agent workflows incorporating planning, tool utilization, memory management, and human-in-loop controls.
- Implement sophisticated retrieval and grounding mechanisms such as hybrid search, reranking, and contextual assembly techniques.
- Establish secure integrations of tools and expose both internal and external services for agent usage.
- Approach AI validation as a rigorously engineered process through regression tests, metric tracking, and release controls.
- Adopt and implement LLMOps and AgentOps methodologies to monitor system cost, latency, quality, and overall performance.
- Optimize AI systems to enhance performance, ensure reliability, and reduce operational expenses across different AI models and providers.
- Develop and maintain backend infrastructure, including Python-based APIs, workflow orchestration, and event-driven architectures.
- Collaborate closely with data science, backend engineers, and delivery teams to produce scalable AI-driven solutions.
- Contribute to the development of reusable software components, create technical documentation, and participate in ongoing AI research and innovation efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
- More than six years of experience in software engineering, applied machine learning, or applied artificial intelligence roles.
- Excellent Python programming skills coupled with solid foundations in software engineering principles.
- Demonstrated track record in building and launching production applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Hands-on experience utilizing agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, CrewAI, or comparable tools.
- In-depth knowledge of retrieval systems and experience working with vector databases.
- Familiarity with agent architecture patterns, including planning, tool integration, ReAct methodology, and multi-agent system designs.
- Experience operating and deploying applications on cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Docker, continuous integration and deployment workflows, and production system environments.
- Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, dependable AI systems with a results-driven approach.
- Applicants must hold Irish or EU citizenship and reside within a reasonable commuting distance from Dublin.
