Senior Android Developer

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Axiom platform team at Tait Communications, you will be instrumental in crafting innovative Embedded Android platforms and applications. You will work on integrating various systems into comprehensive solutions for the Axiom product line, applying your expertise in embedded Android device creation and deployment to deliver robust, high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software at the device level for Embedded Android platforms that align with user requirements and company benchmarks.
• Collaborate closely with architects, hardware leads, stakeholders, and team members to ensure product development aligns with strategic goals.
• Champion best practices across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enhance quality, efficiency, and standards.
• Integrate diverse systems into unified solutions, tackling interoperability and performance challenges effectively.
• Participate in planning and implementing testing strategies, focusing on automated testing frameworks to maintain product quality and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to strengthen the team's Android development capabilities.
• Support the product lifecycle by maintaining solutions post-launch and addressing customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

• Strong collaborator who builds effective relationships and contributes to team achievements through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Excellent communicator capable of aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders toward positive project outcomes.
• Proven extensive experience in developing device-level software specifically for Android platforms.
• Proficient with Android development tools and technologies such as Kotlin, Gradle, and Git, with a solid grasp of modern Android development methodologies.
• Capable in programming languages and tools including Kotlin, Gradle, and Git or other similar platforms.
• Experienced in integrating multiple systems to create cohesive software solutions.
• Engaged in software testing processes, particularly automated test development, to ensure high-quality product delivery.
• Committed to excellence by continuously seeking to improve development processes and outcomes.
• Knowledge or interest in Broadband technologies, networking, or embedded Linux is considered a plus.
