Role Overview
The Senior Alteryx Platform Engineer will operate within the Analytics Service team, supporting core enterprise analytics and Big Data platforms including Power BI, QlikSense, Alteryx, WebFOCUS, Business Objects, and Looker Studio. Located in Chennai, this role involves hybrid working with 4 days in office weekly. The engineer will lead platform engineering, operations, optimization, and infrastructure support across cloud and enterprise data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of analytics platforms: monitoring system performance, handling user/group access and security, and swiftly resolving platform or server issues.
- Work collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture and other stakeholders to harvest requirements and deliver scalable, customer-focused solutions.
- Drive ongoing process and technology improvements through new tools, automation, and optimizations.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation including run books, operational manuals, and knowledgebase articles.
- Deliver expert L2/L3 infrastructure support following ITIL best practices to request, incident, change, event, and problem management.
- Liaise with platform vendors to address and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Assess and operate current and future analytics platforms in compliance with enterprise infrastructure standards.
- Support Agile development workflows using tools such as GitHub, VS Code, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong experience with Alteryx platform administration and engineering.
- Proficient managing large scale, multi-tenant system environments.
- Expertise in Windows Server platform management and application platform engineering.
- Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure platforms including Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with analytics platforms such as Power BI, QlikSense, WebFOCUS, Business Objects, and Looker Studio.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and continuous integration/delivery tools like GitHub, VS Code, and Terraform.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude related to complex infrastructure issues.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Understanding of product lifecycle management including release cadences, service packs, and upgrades.
- Ability to effectively leverage AI tools for enhancing operational efficiency and evaluating AI responses critically.
Preferred Experience and Additional Expertise
- Previous direct experience with the client’s analytics products and environment.
- Security expertise including implementing access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management on data management platforms.
- Continuous platform performance tuning and bottleneck resolution skills.
- Experience developing automation scripts and tools to reduce manual workloads.
- Collaborative skills working alongside data scientists, data analysts, engineers, and business partners to meet platform requirements.

Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in any specialization is required.
