Senior AI/ML Software Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer specializing in AI/ML technologies to architect, develop, and integrate AI-driven applications and solutions. The successful candidate will combine a robust foundation in software engineering with deep experience in building cutting-edge applications leveraging Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and AI APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable AI-enabled software applications.
• Build and integrate services using Generative AI and LLM technologies.
• Create AI solutions employing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, semantic search, and embeddings.
• Develop intelligent AI agents and automated workflows to enhance business processes and decision-making.
• Utilize commercial and open-source AI models through APIs and SDKs, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, or similar platforms.
• Implement prompt engineering, context management, AI evaluation mechanisms, and guardrails to ensure responsible AI deployment.
• Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems integrating AI functionalities into enterprise environments.
• Use Python and modern backend technologies like Node.js, Java, or .NET for AI solution development.
• Manage data ingestion and pipelines to support AI and RAG frameworks.
• Optimize applications for scalability, performance, cost-efficiency, latency, and reliability.
• Deploy automated testing and evaluation frameworks for AI applications.
• Collaborate with DevOps/MLOps teams to implement and maintain cloud-based AI workloads with strong security and governance practices.
• Conduct complex technical investigations, code reviews, and contribute to development standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance.
• Keep abreast of advancements in AI technologies, frameworks, and development methodologies.

Required Skills and Experience

• Seven or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and at least one other programming language such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Go.
• Strong command of REST APIs, microservices architectures, distributed systems, and event-driven design.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, clean code practices, and system architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and deploying AI/ML and Generative AI applications, with deep understanding of LLMs and transformer-based models.
• Practical knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG architecture, embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, AI orchestration, agents, function/tool calling, structured outputs, AI evaluation, and safety guardrails.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs from providers like OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or equivalent platforms.
• Advantageous to have experience in ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
• Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, and understanding of MLOps/LLMOps methodologies.
• Experience in application observability, monitoring, logging, and performance tuning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or related discipline.
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade AI solutions from concept through production.
• Experienced with AI model evaluation, fine-tuning, customization, and cloud-native AI services.
• Knowledge of AI security, privacy, governance, and responsible AI frameworks.
• Background in high-volume, distributed, and real-time systems.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum development processes.
