Role Overview

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will lead the creation of advanced AI co-worker agents capable of multi-step reasoning and autonomous workflows. Your responsibilities include architecting large language model (LLM)-driven systems that execute planning, decision-making, and actions securely and efficiently at scale. You will set the technical course for our agentic AI platforms, mentor junior team members, and ensure our technology delivers robust, aligned, and high-impact results in complex business environments. Your contributions will shape the future collaboration between humans and AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy agent-based LLM systems with integrated planning, tool utilization, workflow orchestration, and sophisticated reasoning features.
• Leverage machine learning and advanced analytics to drive decision-making within autonomous AI co-workers.
• Improve multi-step reasoning processes, context management, and overall agent effectiveness in delivering solutions to enterprise clients.
• Lead MLOps efforts including system evaluation, benchmarking, safety protocols, and quality assurance for autonomous AI technologies.
• Formulate long-term strategic plans for agentic AI framework governance and scalable deployment methodologies.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and leadership teams to produce production-ready AI co-workers for major global customers.
• Coach and support junior data scientists to elevate the team’s scientific and engineering standards.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
• Experience as a software developer is preferred, with knowledge of or willingness to learn TypeScript.
• Track record of delivering significant machine learning applications in complex settings.
• Deep understanding of NLP techniques such as transformers, LSTMs, CNNs, topic modeling, and supervised NLP tasks.
• Practical experience with LLM orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), multi-agent architectures, or tool-calling systems.
• Proficiency in Python tailored for ML/AI applications, along with familiarity in other programming languages.
• Excellent communication skills capable of clearly conveying complex concepts and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Exhibits curiosity, humility, ownership, and adaptability to rapidly evolving environments.
• Willing and able to be onsite 1 to 2 days per week at our Sydney CBD office.
