About the Role
Join EY's Life Insurance Managed Services Actuarial Practice, collaborating with global insurance and consulting experts to deliver high-quality actuarial solutions to top-tier insurance clients. This role involves working closely with colleagues at various levels, including senior managers and client partners, to support large-scale projects and foster long-term client relationships. Our diverse, dedicated team acts as trusted advisors focused on growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement actuarial solutions within the insurance service line, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Provide leadership by managing and guiding small to moderate teams, ensuring deliverables meet strict quality standards and deadlines.
- Review junior team members' work for accuracy and completeness under time-sensitive conditions.
- Modify existing modeling frameworks to incorporate asset and liability cashflows.
- Apply knowledge of Actuarial of Cost (AoC) concepts, including unwinding, roll forward, assumption changes, and experience variances.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to run and modify macros that manage actuarial cashflows.
- Use actuarial valuation software such as Prophet, Axis, or MG Alpha, with a preference for advanced experience in at least one.
- Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations for stakeholders.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of insurance products and regulatory environments across multiple geographies.
Candidate Requirements
- 3-6 years of hands-on experience in valuation, reporting, pricing, or modelling in life actuarial roles within insurance, consulting, or outsourcing.
- Strong analytical capabilities with an ability to independently investigate and resolve model or reporting challenges.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; VBA and coding skills in Power BI, SAS, R, Python, SQL, SPSS are advantageous.
- Good progress in actuarial exams is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative work environments.
- Experience in US insurance product lines and regulatory standards is desirable.
- Overseas exposure, especially to Australia, UK, US, or European markets, highly valued.
