Job Overview
The Senior Accountant will oversee daily accounting activities, guarantee accuracy in financial documentation, and take charge of monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing procedures. This position also involves preparing financial statements, maintaining compliance with ZATCA tax laws, managing audit processes, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing routines; generate precise balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Manage the general ledger by posting, reviewing, and reconciling journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account balances.
- Prepare, review, and submit VAT and Withholding Tax filings adhering to ZATCA guidelines.
- Coordinate audit activities as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors, including preparing audit schedules and necessary documentation.
- Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting processes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of four years' accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
- Preferred professional certifications such as SOCPA, CPA, or CMA.
- Practical expertise in financial closing cycles, ledger management, financial statement preparation, and liaising with auditors.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and ZATCA standards concerning VAT and WHT compliance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and hands-on experience with ERP platforms like SAP or Oracle.
- Business-level proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to perform independently under deadline pressure.
