Role Overview

As a Senior Accountant at Seera, you will take charge of daily accounting functions to maintain the company's financial integrity and foster growth. Your primary duties encompass managing journal entries and the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate completion of monthly and yearly financial closings, and overseeing accounts payable and receivable. You'll also handle bank and balance sheet reconciliations, monitor cash flows, prepare financial statements and management reports, and support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities & Compliance

Your role will include ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards such as IFRS or GAAP, tax laws, and internal control procedures. Collaborating across departments, working with external auditors, and suggesting enhancements for processes to improve financial transparency and efficiency are also key aspects of this position.

Qualifications and Skills

• In-depth knowledge of essential accounting activities including ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow oversight to aid strategic decisions.
• Familiarity with accounting frameworks (IFRS/GAAP), tax regulations, and risk management through internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning software along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills such as pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial modeling.
• Keen attention to detail, strong analytic and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage complex tasks within deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively, especially in a remote working setup, and to engage with stakeholders beyond finance.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is required; professional certifications like CPA or CMA are preferred.
• Previous experience in a senior or leadership accounting capacity, preferably in media, entertainment, or a fast-moving creative sector, is a plus.
