About REANNZ and Role Overview
REANNZ seeks a seasoned Senior Account Manager to nurture, expand, and solidify relationships with New Zealand's premier research, education, and government institutions. This role centers on managing a well-established portfolio with a strong emphasis on customer retention and account growth driven by strategic engagement and enduring client partnerships.
This position gives the successful candidate the unique opportunity to contribute directly to groundbreaking research impacting areas such as healthcare outcomes, climate resilience, and economic development by linking essential digital infrastructures like national networks and high-performance computing resources to these sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio comprising strategic customer partnerships.
- Create and implement comprehensive, long-range account strategies.
- Lead efforts in customer retention and contract renewals, including management of RFx processes and bid submissions.
- Discover and pursue opportunities to grow services and solutions within existing accounts.
- Establish and maintain robust relationships with both executive and technical stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted consultant and champion for customers internally.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure superior client experiences.
- Promote REANNZ's mission through active participation in sector outreach within research, education, and governmental communities.
Candidate Profile and Experience
- Professional background in networking technology vendors, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, managed services, high-performance cloud services, or organizations dedicated to education or government sectors.
- Proven extensive experience in account management, customer success, or strategic relationship roles.
- Skilled in servicing large, complex enterprise, research, education, or governmental clients.
- Strong technical understanding of networking, network infrastructure, telecommunications, wireless technologies, and associated service offerings.
- Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC), advanced research computing settings, and digital research infrastructures.
- Ability to engage effectively with CIOs, IT leaders, network directors, and highly technical stakeholders.
- Expertise in strategic account planning, RFx and bid management, commercial negotiation, and customer retention.
- Excellent communication capabilities and stakeholder management proficiency.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience specifically within the education, research, or government sectors.
- Exposure to cybersecurity solutions and services.
- Established networks and relationships within relevant sectors.
- Experience marketing networking, cloud infrastructure, or HPC-related services.
