Company Overview

C.H. Robinson is hiring an experienced Senior Account Manager for its global forwarding division. This role involves managing and expanding a portfolio of mid to high-value accounts, focusing on customer growth, relationship management, operational excellence, and supply chain strategy support through cross-departmental collaboration globally.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite in Singapore, requiring in-person collaboration with colleagues five days a week to foster innovation and drive impactful outcomes through direct teamwork and face-to-face communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture trusted, personalized relationships with various functional teams within customer supply chains.
  • Engage network subject matter experts to support solution development and opportunity identification for products, services, and transport modes.
  • Drive and qualify an active sales pipeline using CRM tools, collaborating with resources to grow market share.
  • Conduct routine business reviews leveraging internal analytics and market data to discover growth opportunities and retain clients by offering strategic solutions.
  • Strategically manage customer pricing using internal technologies and specialist knowledge.
  • Lead account strategy management including RFPs, proposals, awards, based on insight into customer behavior and company position.
  • Analyze and communicate customer data internally to create collaborative supply chain solutions.
  • Continuously pursue personal growth in knowledge of the company’s services, modes, and technology.
  • Create and maintain account-specific SOPs.
  • Handle conflicts and sensitive discussions with customers diplomatically.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives tailored to customer needs.
  • Stay updated on customers’ industries to identify new prospects.
  • Work closely with operations and product teams to devise strategies for complex challenges.
  • Advocate customer needs within the company to ensure alignment and resource prioritization.
  • Ensure performance expectations, quality standards, and issue resolutions are met collaboratively with internal teams.
  • Respond to customer feedback, including NPS surveys, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Review financial outcomes, volume metrics, and service reports proactively to maintain account health.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving measures for customers.
  • Ensure adherence to negotiated payment terms and account receivable processes.
  • Review AR dashboard regularly and act promptly to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on team or regional requirements.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in global forwarding or account management within the logistics sector.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to negotiate across organizational levels.
  • Ability to function effectively under pressure, multitask, prioritize, and manage time appropriately.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Skill in building solid customer relationships and working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Persuasive, motivational, and influential demeanor.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven with a positive outlook and strong business focus.
  • Orientation towards growth, sales relationships, negotiation, and financial understanding.
  • Capable of mastering company service offerings, strategies, and technology platforms.
