Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain order and cleanliness in the self-checkout area, ensuring it is devoid of unnecessary items, debris, or spills to keep it safe and organized.
• Promote Walmart's initiatives such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable programs when relevant.
• Assist customers with self-checkout, guiding them through transactions efficiently and confidently, addressing any interventions clearly and positively, and directing cash or technical problems to management.
• Respond promptly to electronic article surveillance (EAS) alerts following established procedures and accurately document incidents in the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
• Ensure Scan & Go devices are correctly returned to their assigned storage areas after customer use.
• Be flexible in working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the store’s business needs.

Challenges Associated with the Role

• Handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-moving environment while managing workloads effectively to maintain focus and energy.
• Perform physical activities including standing for long durations, bending, lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly and sometimes up to 50 lbs, as well as repetitive stocking and organizing duties with attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $18.40.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
