Role Details
This is an engaging, hands-on role requiring work at various residential and commercial locations. The technician will undertake the installation, servicing, programming, and system maintenance of modern security and access control systems. The position involves varied daily tasks and offers support for professional development within a technologically advanced environment.
Key Duties
- Install, configure, and set up mobile applications for modern wireless alarm systems, particularly Ajax hubs and detectors.
- Install, program, and commission SALTO access control units and offer configuration and support for ICT Protégé GX and WX systems.
- Integrate alarm and access control devices with IP-based CCTV and intercom systems.
- Provide diagnostics, fault resolution, system upgrades, and deliver comprehensive customer training and handover support.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years of active experience in the electronic security field, with proven expertise in SALTO and ICT Protégé access systems.
- Solid understanding of IT networking principles including IP configurations and VLAN management.
- Preferred certifications include a valid Ministry of Justice Private Security Personnel Badge and Certificate of Approval.
- Possession of a NZ National Certificate in Electronic Security.
- Current Site Safe Passport and Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification for safe work at height.
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication, a professional appearance, positive attitude, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
