Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Security Systems Lead fluent in both Arabic and English to oversee the electronic security infrastructure at an airport operating around the clock. This role demands technical leadership, team management, and direct coordination with government authorities, ensuring system integrity, availability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the health, availability, and performance of comprehensive electronic security systems including Milestone XProtect VMS, Genetec Security Center modules, Lenel OnGuard access controls, and Ipsotek VISuite analytics.
  • Manage system integrations among video management, access control, analytics, intrusion detection, intercom systems, and airport command center interfaces.
  • Maintain and update camera, reader, and panel asset registers, oversee firmware baselines, and plan OEM patching and upgrades.
  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot security network infrastructure with VLAN segmentation, multicast video streaming, QoS, bandwidth management, and network redundancy.
  • Perform advanced packet-level diagnostics using tools like Wireshark, monitor IP addressing schemes, PoE budgets, and collaborate on cybersecurity measures with airport IT/ICT teams.
  • Lead a team of security engineers and technicians working in 24/7 shift patterns; this includes assigning tasks, monitoring quality, enforcing handovers, and fostering professional development through OEM certifications.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are met, oversee corrective maintenance within SLA timelines, manage spare parts inventory and RMA processes with OEMs.
  • Implement strict change management controlling live system configuration changes—requiring approvals, rollback testing, and updated documentation.
  • Serve as the primary Arabic-speaking technical liaison to government bodies such as Jawazat (GDP), Ministry of Interior, and Royal Saudi Air Force for system integration, evidence export, security clearance, and restricted-area access coordination.
  • Produce and present detailed technical reports, incident investigations, and system briefings in Arabic to authorities and client leadership.
  • Monitor KPIs related to camera uptime, recording integrity, access control availability, fault rates, alarm responses, and analytics false alarms; report regularly on system performance and maintenance completion.
  • Support audits by providing access logs, footage retention evidence, and detailed change histories.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations including permit-to-work, working-at-height, and electrical safety during system operations and maintenance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation such as as-built drawings, IP/port mappings, rack layouts, and architectural schematics.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum six years of experience in electronic security systems with at least two years in a leadership role, preferably within airports, critical infrastructure, or government sectors.
  • Certified by OEMs on at least two systems among Milestone, Genetec, Lenel, or Ipsotek.
  • Networking certification at CCNA level or higher is mandatory.
  • Full professional proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligibility for Saudi government security clearance and access to restricted airport zones.

Additional Information

This role requires managing system health across various sophisticated platforms and acting as the escalation point for all technical issues, including root cause analysis and solution implementation. Interactions with multiple government agencies demand high technical communication skills in Arabic. The position involves leading a diverse technical workforce and ensuring strict compliance with operational and safety standards.
