Job description
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced CAD/CAM Engineer with expertise in milling, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and wire electrical discharge machining (EDM). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, and enhancing machining processes to achieve superior quality and operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and refine CAD models and CAM programming for advanced 5-axis milling, wire EDM, grinding, and CMM operations.
- Work closely with design engineers to develop comprehensive machining plans and technical specifications.
- Leverage CAD platforms such as NX and AutoCAD to develop and modify 3D models along with detailed drawings.
- Develop CNC programs tailored for milling machines and wire EDM equipment, following engineering directives.
- Perform setup and operation of CMM instruments to guarantee precise measurement and quality assurance.
- Diagnose and solve machining challenges while maintaining compliance with quality standards.
- Select and optimize tooling appropriate to diverse machining activities.
- Document machining methodologies, program specifications, and quality analysis reports comprehensively.
- Collaborate with production teams to enhance manufacturing workflows and productivity.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments and innovations in CAD/CAM technology.
- Operate CNC machinery and provide training for machine operators.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Established experience in CAD/CAM programming focused on milling, CMM, and wire EDM technologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks and NX, as well as CAM software such as Mastercam and PowerMill.
- Comprehensive understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and material properties.
- Strong analytical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to effectively collaborate within team environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cutting-edge manufacturing techniques and advanced technology implementations.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and other quality management systems.
- Hands-on knowledge in CNC machine operation and setup procedures.
