Job description
Role Overview
The Security Operations Officer is responsible for supervising contract security supervisors and staff, directing daily activities to ensure compliance with deployment plans and quality standards. This role requires communication with stakeholders regarding staff access permissions and requests to keep all relevant parties informed.
The candidate will support department members and stakeholders by compiling documentation and statistics related to incident reports and their resolutions, facilitating continuous improvement initiatives. Regular preparation of statistical reports and summaries from daily shift and incident reports is essential for reference and analysis.
Key duties include assisting in emergency responses or operational disruptions affecting Hamad International Airport and its subsidiaries, supporting programs such as the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program by managing emergency escorts and cordons to ensure the effective delivery of emergency plans.
The officer will conduct regular foot and mobile patrols in various areas including passenger terminals, construction sites, apron and midfield areas, as well as landside and airside perimeters, to prevent security breaches, vandalism, theft, fire, and related hazards.
Responsibilities also involve enforcing alcohol and drug testing policies and conducting authorized searches to maintain compliance with Qatar Airways company policies.
Responding promptly to incidents or operational accidents on both landside and airside is critical, including immediate reporting to management for swift escalation and resolution. The officer will oversee security checkpoint transfers and hold baggage screening activities, ensuring adherence to local regulations and SLA commitments.
Secondary screening duties must comply with foreign governmental standards, and the officer will ensure other airline security services meet respective foreign authority requirements, including comprehensive supervision and documentation management.
Supervision extends to staff screening and man-guarding roles, with operational quality control measures to guarantee process effectiveness. Additional related duties as assigned by the department head are also expected.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have completed at least a high school, vocational or diploma education with a minimum of four years of relevant job experience. Candidates holding a bachelor's degree or its equivalent with at least four years of job-related experience are also encouraged to apply.
Experience working in airport or aviation security environments is required. Proficiency in IT, especially with Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, is expected. Holding a valid driving license is preferred.
