Role Overview

The Security Manager at Doha Festival City Mall will be responsible for supervising all facets of security to protect people, property, and information from threats such as physical attacks, theft, fraud, and espionage. This leadership role demands coordination with mall management, local law enforcement, city officials, and contractors to ensure smooth event operations, traffic management, and security measures while independently handling emergencies. The individual acts as the principal intermediary between mall management and external agencies like police and civil defense.

Key Duties

• Develop and implement robust security protocols to safeguard personnel and business assets.
• Analyze internal operations data to guide installation and maintenance of electronic security systems including CCTV and access controls.
• Ensure personal security for mall visitors, families, and groups.
• Oversee surveillance activities aimed at identifying and apprehending suspects.
• Inform service providers on security vulnerabilities and enforce procedures for secure handling and disposal of sensitive materials.
• Report criminal activity to authorities and provide testimony when required.
• Coordinate event security logistics including traffic and parking in partnership with police, civil defense, and city management.
• Support event teams by acquiring necessary information well in advance and leading pre-event departmental briefings and site inspections.
• Conduct post-event site inspections ensuring restoration to original conditions and submit comprehensive reports promptly.
• Confirm security personnel attendance monthly and align mall strategies with key retailers.
• Conduct regular reviews and analysis of incidents, vandalism, fire risks, theft, and crisis management plans.
• Manage relationships and coordination with civil defense, police, tenants, and contractors regarding security and billing attendance.
• Maintain and manage traffic signage, conduct road and parking safety assessments, and oversee contractor and staff vehicle access.
• Handle coordination of traffic flow in cooperation with government agencies, including managing traffic accidents, abandoned vehicles, and traffic strategies for major events.
• Generate routine and ad hoc operational reports summarizing security and traffic activities for senior management.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least 5 to 7 years of experience managing security operations.
• Formal senior security management training and prior experience with national security or police forces.
• Proven leadership with excellent communication and interpersonal coordination capabilities.
• Capable of making independent decisions under pressure and handling emergencies efficiently.
• Proficiency with computer applications used for reporting and presentation.
• Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary and collaborate effectively in diverse team environments.
