Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure deployments on AWS and Google Cloud using Terraform.
• Deploy and manage internal and external security solutions in Kubernetes environments.
• Leverage GitOps methodologies with tools such as Argo CD, Flux, and Helm charts for deployment processes.
• Create and maintain security tooling and automation using programming languages including Go and TypeScript.
• Proactively detect and correct cloud configuration errors to strengthen security posture.
• Advise teams on secure cloud architecture principles to ensure robust environments.
• Develop and refine cloud-native threat detection mechanisms and alert pipelines for monitoring suspicious activities in cloud and container workloads.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 8 years of experience in roles related to security engineering, cloud security, or platform engineering.
• Proven hands-on experience securing production workloads in AWS and Google Cloud platforms.
• Expertise in designing and securing Infrastructure as Code environments specifically using Terraform.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Kubernetes security, including debugging Helm deployments and managing GitOps workflows.
• Proficiency in Go and TypeScript programming, with Python used for automation purposes.
• Experience integrating security controls into continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Required certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
• Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Security Specialty, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, and HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
• Experience with Policy-as-Code tools such as Open Policy Agent is advantageous.
• Familiarity with securing service mesh frameworks like Istio, and background in software or platform engineering prior to security specialization is beneficial.
