Key Responsibilities
- Assist IBM’s Cyber Strategy & Risk team on client projects involving cybersecurity strategy formulation, risk evaluation, and compliance governance.
- Conduct research, documentation, assessments, and analysis to help produce client-ready materials under supervision of consultants and security professionals.
- Contribute to cybersecurity strategy tasks including development of security roadmaps, operating frameworks, and maturity enhancement plans; undertake studies of emerging threats, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Benchmark client security capabilities against standards such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls; create presentations, reports, and executive summaries.
- Support risk management through conducting risk evaluations on threats, vulnerabilities, organizational impact, and control weaknesses; maintain risk registers, treatment strategies, and remediation trackers.
- Analyze risks concerning business functions, key assets, vendors, and tech infrastructure; prepare risk dashboards and management summaries.
- Engage in governance, risk, and compliance activities including reviewing policies, supporting compliance audits against frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, and Qatar NIA; organize audit proofs and map controls accordingly.
- Support project delivery by preparing meeting documentation, workshop materials, client communications, tracking action items, maintaining project records, and quality assurance on deliverables.

This internship opportunity is exclusively available to Qatari nationals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current enrollment or recent graduation in fields such as Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Risk Management or related areas.
- Strong enthusiasm for cybersecurity governance, risk management, compliance, strategic security consulting.
- Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles including threat and vulnerability concepts, control mechanisms, identity management, incident response, data security, and security awareness.
- Excellent analytical, research, and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications — PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
- Effective communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks like NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and Qatar National Information Assurance (NIA).
- Arabic language proficiency.
