Role Summary
We are looking to fill a permanent position for a Secondary Mathematics Teacher starting Term 1, 2027. The successful candidate will join a supportive Maths Department team and contribute actively to school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and delivering engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum, with precise assessments and progress tracking.
- Establishing a positive, well-organized classroom environment using diverse teaching methods and assigning purposeful homework to support academic growth.
- Creating reliable assessments, moderating academic standards, and reporting student progress professionally to students and parents.
- Integrating educational technologies and contemporary pedagogies such as inquiry-based learning, design thinking, and workshops to foster problem-solving skills and curiosity.
- Maintaining consistent, fair behavior management and providing pastoral care both as a tutor and classroom teacher.
- Collaborating with colleagues by sharing resources, engaging in professional development, supporting school events, and positively contributing to the wider school community.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Recognized teaching qualification such as Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or its equivalent.
- Current accreditation with the New Zealand Education Department.
- Willingness to undergo a New Zealand police clearance before employment.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining teaching accreditation in New Zealand.
- Availability to supervise lunch and playground duties.
- Readiness to participate in school events beyond regular hours including performances and parent-teacher meetings.
