Role Overview

The Librarian at ACG Parnell is crucial in advancing the school’s mission by managing the library collection and providing supportive library services. This role fosters literacy and encourages a passion for reading among students by ensuring access to a diverse range of resources. The position requires excellent organisation, self-motivation, interpersonal and administrative capabilities since it is a sole charge position.

Key Responsibilities

• Encourage a reading culture and lifelong learning within the school community.
• Oversee the development, management, and budgeting of library resources and equipment tailored to curriculum and student requirements.
• Deliver efficient library services including book circulation, shelving, reference assistance, and student supervision.
• Instruct and support students on information literacy, research methodologies, and citation skills.
• Design and implement library-related programs, events, and initiatives promoting engagement with literature.
• Cultivate a comprehensive collection of print and digital materials that address varying interests and learning stages.
• Maintain information management systems, conduct inventory checks, and contribute to reporting and library projects.
• Work collaboratively with staff, especially academic support teams, to enhance student performance and support enrichment activities.
• Prepare the library for the start of each academic term and handle scheduling for class visits.
• Assist in photocopier operations and manage associated service requests.
