Position Overview

To support a busy processing season at the Pukeuri Processing Plant in Oamaru, Alliance seeks enthusiastic and dependable individuals to fill various roles including General Labourers, Boners, and Butchers. These roles operate within a large multi-species processing facility during both day and night shifts.

Working Hours and Roster

• Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays during peak times
• Day shift runs from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
• Night shift runs from 5:00 pm to 2:00 am

Compensation and Benefits

• Guaranteed minimum base pay of $30.90 per hour for General Labourer roles, inclusive of allowances
• Higher wages available for more skilled Boners and Butchers, with additional allowances
• Minimum 30 hours per week with opportunities to reach up to 45 hours weekly
• Up to 11 months of full-time seasonal employment
• Comprehensive on-the-job training provided, including the chance to earn NZQA-recognised qualifications

• Exposure to a variety of processing tasks within a multi-species environment

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes

• Legal right to work within New Zealand
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical assessment and drug screening
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards in the workplace
• Physical fitness suitable for manual labor
• Dependable, motivated with a strong attendance record
• Team-oriented with good collaboration skills
• Possession of valid identification such as a Driver’s Licence, Passport, or Birth Certificate
• Previous meat processing experience is beneficial, though not required
