Work Schedule and Environment

This position follows a standard Monday to Friday work schedule at our GMP Laboratories located in Athlone, Ireland. Strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards is mandatory.

The Scientist III role is critical in supporting pharmaceutical analysis within our PPD Laboratory Services, focused on products for the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare complex samples for analysis using a variety of methods.
• Quantitatively analyze pharmaceutical formulations to support stability testing and other studies.
• Review and compile analytical results accurately and within required timeframes.
• Operate, maintain, and set up analytical instrumentation, mainly independently.
• Train on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and analytical instrumentation theory and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to fulfill business objectives.
• Address Quality Assurance findings promptly and communicate project status clearly to team leaders.
• Ensure all work complies with protocols, methods, SOPs, client standards, and GMP or GLP regulations.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in a GMP-compliant laboratory environment.
• Proficient in analytical techniques including Waters and Agilent HPLC and UPLC systems.
• Equivalency of education, training, and related experience may be considered where appropriate.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Hands-on experience with HPLC, Mass Spectrometry, UV Spectrometry, pH measurement, Dissolution testing, Osmolality, and Karl Fisher titration.
• Strong ability to interpret data with a focus on trend analysis.
• Proven technical writing and problem-solving skills.
• In-depth knowledge of method validation; experience in method development is a plus.
• Capability to plan, organize, and execute work to achieve successful project completion.
• Meticulous attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
