Job description

Job Overview

The Satellite Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing production performance, ensuring safety for all personnel within their assigned area, and acting as the authority on-site, especially in emergencies. They will serve as the On-Scene Commander during emergency responses and be a permanent, active team member on the offshore platform.

Location and Reporting

  • Assigned to Al Shaheen Offshore Field – G-site
  • Part of Field Operations – Offshore Area department
  • Reports to Offshore Installation Manager (G SITE)
  • Manages a team including Multi Technicians, Crane Operator, and Trainee
  • Works a rotational schedule of 28 days on and 28 days off, covering both day and night 12-hour shifts (extendable if required)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide up to 7 personnel daily to ensure smooth operations
  • Inspire staff towards a culture focused on performance and innovation in safety and production optimization
  • Provide leadership and support to temporary personnel such as service teams and inspectors
  • Plan and coordinate operational activities meticulously, considering SAP, materials, tools, and permits
  • Oversee the safe execution and proper closure of all planned activities
  • Manage permit-to-work processes including preparation, hazard identification, risk mitigation, and controlling work activities according to company protocols
  • Monitor production, injection, and utility systems, delivering feedback and suggesting improvements for efficiency and safety
  • Develop and review risk assessments to minimize hazards and ensure adequate mitigations
  • Promote and embody a safety-first culture, managing the Offshore Satellite Emergency Response Team to maintain site safety at all times
  • Conduct internal audits on risk management systems to ensure compliance and foster continuous improvement

Required Qualifications and Industry Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in any engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Must have experience in hydrocarbon processes and process safety
  • Background knowledge in instrumentation and electrical matters to an appropriate level
  • Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience in oil and gas production operations

Mandatory Certifications

  • T-BOSIET and H2S certification, including Fitness to Work Certificate
  • Basic and Advanced Firefighting training
  • Major Emergency Management certification
  • Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader qualification
  • Advanced First Aid
  • Company-required certifications such as Incident-Free Supervisor, Health & Industrial Hygiene, Industry Golden Rules, Basic Cause Tree Analysis, Oil Spill Level 1, Electrical Habilitation Level 2, Gas and NORM test training

Technical Skills Required

  • Deep knowledge of process, water treatment, gas treatment, gas lift, production equipment, and well functionalities
  • Strong understanding of operational safety and hazard identification, including SimOps, pressure and lifting operations
  • Experience interpreting and utilizing P&ID and C&E diagrams, and applying isolation principles
  • Basic instrumentation and control equipment knowledge, including fault diagnosis
  • Familiarity with industry process safety standards and procedures

Language and Communication

Fluent in English for both verbal and written communication is essential.
