Job description
Role Overview
As a SAS Developer, you will be instrumental in maintaining production environments, resolving system incidents, and enhancing SAS-related applications and their integrations. Your expertise in SAS and SQL will be pivotal in maintaining the reliability and accuracy of enterprise data analytics platforms.
Main Responsibilities
- Resolve production incidents by analyzing logs, tracing code, executing diagnostic SQL queries, and reproducing issues as needed.
- Edit and patch SAS 9.4 scripts, alongside Python and Node.js applications, especially when failures are traced to code or scheduled jobs.
- Develop and execute SQL queries on MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases to identify data anomalies, determine root causes, and verify corrections.
- Write new code according to project requirements and scope expansions.
- Support and improve SAS Visual Investigator, SAS Visual Analytics, Enterprise Guide, and SAS Viya workflows.
- Manage defect life cycles including investigation, repair, and validation stages.
- Collaborate with SAS Technical Support to address complex technical challenges.
- Engage with senior stakeholders from technical and business units to facilitate communication and project management.
- Evaluate change requests rigorously and provide accurate effort estimates.
Candidate Profile
- Hands-on experience with SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya platforms.
- Proficient in querying and handling data using MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases for troubleshooting and validation.
- Experience in debugging and maintaining SAS, Python, and Node.js scripts.
- Strong skills in SAS Visual Investigator, SAS Visual Analytics, and SAS Enterprise Guide.
- Problem-solving aptitude with a keen eye for diagnosing technical issues.
- Ability to collaborate across diverse technical and business teams effectively.
- Detail-oriented approach to managing defects and change requests with accountability.
