Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to contribute to ongoing and future SAP projects including AMS and S/4HANA transformation initiatives. This position is focused on cutting-edge S/4HANA development utilizing RAP, Fiori Elements, and CDS-based techniques, with adaptability to support transitional phases or short-term requests such as AMS or pre-S/4 environments. Ideal candidates will have solid ABAP skills and are either already versed in or eager to adopt modern S/4HANA development methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and enhance SAP applications across ECC and S/4HANA platforms.
- Develop applications using RAP and Fiori Elements when suitable.
- Design and improve CDS Views to address both transactional and analytical scenarios.
- Implement clean coding and optimize performance.
- Develop and publish OData services (V2 and V4).
- Work in close collaboration with functional, integration, and AMS teams.
- Participate in Agile project and support delivery processes.
Technical Requirements
- Advanced experience in ABAP Object-Oriented programming.
- Understanding and application of S/4HANA development concepts.
- Proficiency with RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model).
- Skill in Fiori Elements for annotation-driven user interface construction.
- Expertise in CDS Views, including layered modeling and code push-down tactics.
- Familiarity with modern ABAP syntax.
Development Tools and Standards
- Competence with SAP Business Application Studio or Eclipse ABAP Development Tools (ADT).
- Experience using Git for source control and collaboration.
- Knowledge of OData services using SAP Gateway across versions V2 and V4.
- Adherence to clean code methodologies and ability in ABAP Unit testing.
- Skills in performance tuning and effective error management.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Development of Flexible Workflow processes.
- Fundamentals of SAPUI5—particularly for extensions rather than standalone apps.
- Experience with Adobe Forms and Output Management systems.
- Knowledge of BRF+ rule framework.
- Understanding integration patterns and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Application Interface Framework (AIF).
- Exposure to SAP Cloud ALM.
Functional Domain Knowledge (Depending on Engagement)
- Order to Cash processes.
- Procure to Pay cycle.
- Transportation Management functions.
- Extended Warehouse Management expertise.
