Job description
Position Overview
The Sanitor plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness throughout the manufacturing plant, ensuring all areas meet the highest standards of sanitation. This role also involves occasional support to production tasks to promote overall operational efficiency and uphold food safety and employee safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute cleaning and sanitizing tasks for all areas including floors, walls, ceilings, railings, and rack supports following the master sanitation checklist or instructions from the Shift Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in all production department work areas.
- Regularly inspect and clean the employee parking lot area for litter or debris.
- Clean and dust fire extinguishers, lamps, fans, ledges, pipe insulation, and dispose of all garbage appropriately.
- Respond promptly and assist in cleaning any spills encountered.
- Provide support to production tasks when required.
- Operate and maintain the floor scrubber on a daily basis.
- Manage and monitor the wash-bay chemical inventory.
- Undergo cross-training to provide coverage for production duties during absenteeism or vacation periods.
- Ensure full adherence to all food safety and employee safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completion of high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience within a food manufacturing environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Valid certifications for Arial Lift and Lift Truck operation.
- Ability to work in a high-temperature environment and navigate freely throughout the facility.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Exposure to environments with excessive noise, heat, cold, dust, and mild chemicals.
Compensation and Work Schedule
- Hourly wage is set at $24.11 CAD.
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on the day shift.
