Role Overview
The Sanitation II position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions throughout the processing plant, ensuring compliance with Lamb Weston's rigorous food safety and sanitation protocols.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct cleaning activities using high-pressure hoses (air and hot water) and various cleaning tools such as scratch pads, brushes, sponges, squeegees, shovels, brooms, buckets, wheel barrows, carts, ladders, and appropriate cleaning agents.
- Operate equipment safely within assigned cleaning zones, including adherence to lock-out procedures as required.
- Remove residual product, foreign substances, and accumulated buildup from machinery or specific areas via manual scrubbing, chemical foam application, shoveling, scraping, rinsing, and sweeping as directed by the team leader.
- Prepare and apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals properly, following safety guidelines when handling potentially hazardous substances.
- Use pallet jacks for transporting rocks and product totes in the receiving area.
- Perform painting tasks on machinery and walls as assigned.
- Meet or exceed sanitation labor prerequisites and be flexible to work across all plant areas as necessary.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives such as AMD drumbeats.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned to support plant operations and sanitation objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Prior experience working in a plant environment is considered advantageous.
