Position Overview
The Hershey Salty Snacks Company, known for its beloved snack brands including Skinny Pop, seeks a Sanitation Associate to join the dynamic team in Whitestown, IN. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary facility by performing thorough cleaning duties and ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.

Work Schedule
- Orientation week schedule provided before start date
- Work schedule follows a 2-2-2 pattern
- 12-hour daytime shifts running from 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM
Candidate Communication & Process
Applicants must have valid email access as communication will be via phone, email, and text. Qualified individuals will receive calls to arrange onsite interviews. Employment offers are contingent upon successful background checks and drug screening.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and surface wiping.
- Sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, production zones, equipment, and other assigned spaces following set protocols.
- Manage disposal of trash, garbage, and recyclable materials properly while complying with environmental standards.
- Prepare and use cleaning chemicals safely as per manufacturer and safety guidelines, ensuring correct labeling and storage.
- Maintain cleaning tools and equipment; report any malfunctions promptly.
- Comply strictly with safety procedures and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct inspections to spot sanitation concerns and collaborate with team members to resolve issues.
- Keep inventory of sanitation supplies and request restocking as needed.
- Accurately document sanitation activities and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Communicate concerns and ideas to supervisors and participate in continuous improvement of sanitation processes.
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is mandatory.
- English language proficiency, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Experience in sanitation, cleaning, or janitorial roles required.
- Understanding of cleaning methods, sanitation standards, and proper chemical usage.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to wear PPE correctly.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in sanitizing efforts.
- Ability to adhere strictly to instructions and safety guidelines.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Capabilities to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Physical capacity to perform cleaning tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying materials.
