Job description

Role Overview

As Halter expands into multiple hardware lines and new global markets, aligning what we plan to sell with what we can manufacture becomes crucial. The Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Lead role is pivotal in managing this balance effectively and swiftly. This position is the inaugural dedicated S&OP role at Halter, responsible for establishing and overseeing a comprehensive S&OP process from the ground up. This entails designing the meeting cadence, implementing suitable tools, and fostering collaboration between commercial and operations divisions to create a unified and trusted plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the complete S&OP cycle, including demand reviews, supply reviews, and executive S&OP sessions specific to Halter’s needs.
  • Lead monthly S&OP meetings, aligning commercial, forecasting, supply planning, and operational stakeholders to achieve consensus on plans.
  • Detect early discrepancies between demand forecasts and supply capabilities, evaluate their impacts, and drive cross-functional discussions to resolve these issues.
  • Maintain clear visibility of inventory levels and product availability across all markets and product lines.
  • Coordinate supply chain planning across international territories, considering regional differences in lead times, shipping methods, regulatory compliance, and demand trends.
  • Prepare detailed executive summaries for S&OP meetings, enabling leadership to make informed decisions based on key trade-offs and recommendations.
  • Monitor follow-up actions and commitments from S&OP processes and ensure accountability across teams.
  • Continuously refine and evolve the S&OP process in line with Halter’s growth, expanding product range, and increasing planning sophistication.
  • Build and sustain reporting frameworks that provide clear insight into supply status and forecast accuracy for leadership's awareness of business health and risks.

Daily Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven leadership of S&OP or integrated business planning in hardware manufacturing environments, with a track record of owning and enhancing the process.
  • Demonstrated capability in initiating or significantly improving S&OP workflows rather than inheriting established systems.
  • Exceptional skills in facilitating meetings and guiding diverse stakeholders toward a common plan despite competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical aptitude comfortable with complex datasets, planning models, and rigorous validation of assumptions.
  • Ability to engage effectively with commercial and operational leaders, translating demand risks and supply chain considerations fluently.
  • A proactive and decisive mindset, energized by addressing ambiguities and actively resolving planning imbalances promptly.
  • An open-minded, low-ego approach, embracing difficult conversations, addressing issues promptly, and adapting opinions based on better solutions.

Benefits and Culture

  • Access to complimentary snacks and beverages to support daily productivity.
  • Partnership with Southern Cross Health Insurance to promote physical and mental well-being.
  • Generous parental leave policies, including six months of fully paid leave for primary caregivers and four weeks for secondary caregivers, alongside comprehensive family support benefits.
  • An annual $1,000 personal development allowance to encourage continuous learning and growth.
  • Wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave to value recharge and work-life balance.
  • A competitive and inclusive remuneration package combining salary, benefits, and participation in an employee stock ownership plan.
