Job description

Company Overview

Horizon3.ai is a rapidly expanding cybersecurity firm operating remotely, dedicated to helping organizations proactively identify, remediate, and verify exploitable vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. Our flagship solution, the NodeZeroTM platform, provides production-safe autonomous penetration tests and other critical assessments that scale across vast internal, external, cloud, and hybrid cloud infrastructures. Organizations ranging from educational institutions to government bodies and Global 100 enterprises rely on NodeZero for their security needs. It is utilized by IT operations, security teams, consulting penetration testers, and managed security service providers.

Our team combines former U.S. Special Operations cyber personnel, startup engineers, and cybersecurity professionals frustrated with conventional tools. We are driven to solve industry challenges such as ineffective tools, alert fatigue due to false positives, security blind spots, checkbox compliance culture, skill shortages, and the costly delays of external consultants. We foster a culture of learning, respect, collaboration, ownership, and results.

As a remote-first company, employees must have at least a 25Mbps consumer-grade internet connection.

Role Overview

Horizon3.ai is transforming how organizations defend against modern cyber threats. We are seeking a Sales Engineer to work closely with Account Executives, helping mid-sized organizations comprehend the technical and business benefits of our platform. This role suits someone who excels in fast-paced environments, can distill complex security concepts, and builds trusted customer relationships.

  • Maintain relationships post-sale to track evolving customer requirements, ensure value realization, and identify expansion opportunities.
  • Translate technical features into business outcomes, clarifying platform value in terms of risk exposure reduction, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage technical deal strategy, addressing objections, competitive positioning, and technical concerns during the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate internally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to inform product roadmap and sales positioning from field insights.
  • Contribute to enablement materials, refining demo content, technical assets, and playbooks for the Enterprise segment.
  • Provide technical continuity after closing deals by facilitating smooth handoffs, reinforcing initial value, and maintaining alignment between executives and practitioners to promote adoption and expansion.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Sales Engineering or as a Solutions Architect in cybersecurity or infrastructure.
  • Residence in Eastern Canada, ideally the Greater Toronto area.
  • Experience engaging Enterprise accounts at both technical and executive levels.

  • Ability to clarify complex technical concepts to both technical teams and executives.
  • Experience managing structured proof-of-value engagements and technical validation processes.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and adaptability to fast-growth, high-velocity workplaces.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related disciplines.
