Role Overview
The Sales Engineer – APAC is a pivotal technical pre-sales expert responsible for supporting sales efforts across one of the fastest-growing hospitality regions. This role demands deep understanding of hotel operations and management, collaborating closely with regional sales teams to drive revenue. Key duties include conducting persuasive product demonstrations, translating complex customer demands into customized technical solutions, advising on integration and product capabilities, and influencing how leading hospitality brands create memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales Directors to comprehend client needs, use cases, and decision priorities.
- Lead detailed discovery meetings with customers and stakeholders to tailor solutions that fit requirements.
- Design detailed technical architectures using the complete Agilysys portfolio, emphasizing hotel PMS, Spa, and Golf solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive, technically accurate responses to RFPs and RFIs.
- Create Statements of Work (SOW), architectural diagrams, integration plans, and supporting project documentation.
- Deliver impactful, customized product demonstrations both virtually and in-person to stakeholders at all organizational levels, including IT, operations, and executive teams.
- Maintain an up-to-date demo environment reflecting the latest product releases and configurations.
- Educate clients on the value propositions emphasizing return on investment, scalability, and enhanced guest experiences.
- Serve as a trusted advisor offering insights into hospitality technology trends and digital transformation strategies.
- Represent the company at relevant industry events such as conferences, webinars, and trade shows to promote solutions and gather market intelligence.
- Provide ongoing market and customer feedback to Product and R&D teams to influence future product development tailored to APAC needs.
- Coordinate with Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services, and Support teams to ensure feasibility and alignment of solutions.
- Support handoffs to implementation teams post-sales closure to guarantee seamless knowledge transfer.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in hospitality, hotel management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in Sales Engineering, Solution Consulting, or Solution Architecture roles within enterprise software, ideally related to hospitality or comparable sectors.
- Familiarity working with boutique, large-scale, or multi-property hotel brands in the APAC region.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hotel systems such as PMS, POS, inventory and procurement, Spa management, loyalty programs, and payment processing.
- Understanding of enterprise software fundamentals including APIs, relational databases, networking, security, and cloud-based SaaS models.
- Experience integrating hospitality systems like CRS, OTA, and third-party platforms via standardized data exchange methods.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills accompanied by an analytical approach to bridging business needs and technical solutions.
- Customer-oriented mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
- Self-driven, resourceful, and agile in a dynamic, global, matrixed work environment.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional regional languages such as Mandarin, Japanese, or Bahasa is highly advantageous.
- Willingness and capability for up to 75% travel within the APAC region.
- Experience navigating complex sales processes in diverse multicultural markets.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
